Tipología y factores de invisibilización de la violencia sexual contra mujeres y varones en contextos de conflicto armado

La violencia sexual, como manifestación de la violencia de género, es un crimen en sí mismo que se incrementa en conflictos armados, siendo un medio para perpetrar crímenes de odio, genocidio, contra la humanidad o de guerra. Esto ocurre especialmente cuando se focaliza contra mujeres, personas identificadas con identidades LGTBI o cuando se utilizan como prácticas ofensivas entre dos varones. En estos casos subyace la misoginia y la homofobia/transfobia del grupo dominante. Generalmente se piensa que la violencia sexual en conflictos armados se produce sobre los estereotipos construidos de varones y mujeres, es decir el varón violento y la mujer víctima pasiva, pero hay ejemplos históricos, como la II Guerra Mundial, donde numerosas mujeres soldado de distintos rangos eran conocidas por su violencia, incluso sexual contra otras mujeres y varones. Otro estereotipo sobre la violencia sexual en tiempos bélicos es la de personas vencedoras y vencidas. Siguiendo el ejemplo de la II Guerra Mundial, la violencia sexual vino indistintamente por parte de los vencedores o países Aliados y de los vencidos o países del Eje.5 De esto concluimos que la violencia sexual supera los estereotipos asignados a cada sexo y los distintos grupos implicados en un conflicto armado. En esta superación de estereotipos, la violencia sexual opera indiscriminadamente sobre mujeres y varones en tanto dinámica de poder. OPTIMAL REGULATION AND GROWTH IN A NATURAL-RESOURCE-BASED ECONOMY

This paper develops a two-sector model for a renewable natural resource based economy. Pareto efficient results show the optimal harvesting rate that allows for sustained long-run optimal growth, which is upper-bounded by the biological rate of reproduction. Regulation prevents from resource over-exploitation and exhaustion which arise under open access. The Ramsey policy allowing the competitive economy to reach the first-best solution, leads the government to tax harvesting activity from firms and distribute the receipts among households. In the short-run the tax is variable. In the long-run, the lower the intrinsic rate of reproduction the higher the constant unit tax on the resource use.Natural Resources, Efficiency, Open Access, Ramsey Regulation, Growth.

Analysis of sustainability presence in Spanish higher education

Purpose: This paper analyzes the presence of sustainability in sixteen Spanish Higher Education curricula in the fields of Education and Engineering. Design/Methodology/Approach: The methodology employs two instruments: the Sustainability Map and the Sustainability Presence Map. These instruments enable the following: to analyze the number of subjects that develop sustainability and the sustainability presence level in each curriculum; to identify at what domain levels of the learning taxonomy sustainability is most developed; and to analyze whether a correlation exists between the sustainability presence and the number of subjects that develop sustainability in each curriculum. Findings: A wide variety of subjects develop sustainability in a given degree, depending on the university. The presence of sustainability is more homogeneous in education degrees than in engineering degrees. Education degrees have a greater presence of sustainability in the lower domain levels of the taxonomy, while in engineering degrees the lower levels of the taxonomy have a lower presence of sustainability than the higher levels. Finally, a correlation appears to exist between the number of subjects that develop sustainability in the curriculum and the sustainability presence. However, engineering degrees seem to need fewer subjects than education degrees to achieve the same degree of sustainability presence. Originality/Value: This paper proposes a methodology to measure sustainability presence that can be applicable to the curricula of a Higher Education degree if the corresponding Sustainability Map is available. Do travelers' reviews depend on the destination? An analysis in coastal and urban peer-to-peer lodgings

Our research applies a service, feature-oriented approach to deeply explore the subjective experiences shared publicly by Airbnb guests in their reviews. Our processed data set contains 73,557 reviews of Airbnb stays in coastal and urban destinations between 2017 and 2020. A topic modeling based on the BERTopic approach is applied to detect dense clusters of reviews and identify one highly relevant and interpretable topic per cluster related to core and essential sharing services and surrounding features. Our study, therefore, allows a higher understanding of the relationships between urban versus coastal destinations and guests' preferences. Furthermore, it enables hosts to differentiate the touristic short-rentals lodgings according to customer experiences

El artículo sintetiza, a modo de guía, la metodología a seguir para el estudio de la alteración de la piedra de los monumentos así como las medidas de conservación. La estrategia del caracol. Un breve recorrido por la cooperación cinematográfica de la UE con otras regiones

El presente trabajo defiende la idea de que la política audiovisual europea debe aprender a mirar hacia fuera, replanteando necesariamente sus relaciones externas, ya que hasta el momento ha buscado definir su identidad conforme a una serie de condicionantes que pudiesen hacerla competitiva frente a la estadounidense, ignorando de este modo que el nuevo imaginario cultural (internacional-popular) impone nuevos espacios de cooperación e intercambio de productos que superan las actuales fronteras nacionales y regionales. En esta vuelta de tuerca, reclamamos para la Unión Europea no sólo el papel de potencia económica competitiva frente a los Estados Unidos, sino también el ejercicio de una función de liderazgo en la defensa por la diversidad cultural de nuestras pantallas. Dicho ejercicio pasa necesariamente por fortalecer las políticas nacionales de cultura, así como por avanzar en procesos de integración y cooperación interregionales, donde la industria cinematográfica puede jugar un papel esencial. En este articulo, llevaremos a cabo una evaluación de los programas de cooperación audiovisual que la UE mantiene hoy en día con otras regiones del planeta, un espacio aún por desarrollar, lastrado por todo tipo de condicionantes e intereses, pero que ofrece una salida viable y un complemento necesario e interesante a su política proteccionista

Medición de las variaciones de la participación salarial en el valor añadido bruto de la industria: 1964-1981

This paper. presents a quantitative model attempting an explanation of the wage share variations in gross value added for the spanish industry over the period 1964 to 1981. Two sources of variation were isolated, namely: (a) wage share variations within each industry; (b) changes in the share of the gross value added of each industry with respect to the total industrial gross value added. Furthermore, interactive effects between sources are analized. The empirical analysis shows that, variations in the individual wage share explain most of the aggregate wage share variation in the industrial gross value added; on the contrary, such variations do not appear to have been influenced by composition and interactive effects. Interestingly enough, the aggregate wage share continously increased over the whole period except for 1967 through 1969.Esle artículo presenta un modelo de determinación cuantitativa de las fuerzas explicativas de los cambios de la participación salarial en el valor añadido bruto de la industria española, para el período 1964-1981. Se han aislado dos fuentes de cambio en la participación salarial agregada: (a) las variaciones en la participación salarial en cada una de las industrias individuales, y (b) los cambios en la producción del valor añadido bruto de cada industria individual respecto al valor añadido bruto de todo el sector industrial. Además, se analizan los efectos de interacción entre ambas fuerzas. El análisis empírico muestra que las variaciones en la participación salarial individual explican casi totalmente las variaciones de la participación salarial agregada en el valor añadido bruto industrial, mientras que los efectos de composición e interacción parecen tener muy poca incidencia sobre dichas variaciones. Cabe resaltar que en todos los períodos analizados la participación salarial agregada ha crecido respecto de 1967 a 1969

The epigraphy of an islamic mould in Lorca (Murcia)

En este artículo estudiamos la epigrafía de una serie de amuletos y talismanes que se conservan en un molde hallado en una intervención arqueológica en Lorca (Murcia). Se incide en la epigrafía y el simbolismo de estas leyendas. Se compara con otras piezas arqueológicas estudiadas hasta hoy.In this paper we study the epigraphic characteristics of a series of amulets and talismans conserved in a mold obtained in an archaeological excavation in Lorca (Murcia). Rethinking the definition of participatory video at the interface of theory and practice

Since at least the 1960s, participatory video (PV) has aimed to readdress film’s traditional focus on entertainment and the media’s interest in global news with the intention of promoting local and community development. This has usually meant empowering communities to work via consensus to elaborate different audiovisual products which reflect community problems and aspirations in various ways. In the words of Shirley White, author of Participatory Video. Images that Transform and Empower, PV acts as “a powerful force for people to see themselves in relation to the community (…). It brings about a critical awareness that forms the foundation for creativity and communication” (White, 2003: 64). This paper addresses the concept of PV comprehensively by mobilizing critically both academic takes on the subject and the professional views of a variety of practitioners and experts. It aims to outline a number of uses and modes which coexist within PV with the aim of generating a more fruitful discussion on its defining features and the relation between canonical and marginal examples of participatory videomaking. To that effect, our methodological approach combines a literature review (including key works in English as well as theoretical contributions in the field of Latin American critical communication studies) with data obtained from a number of in-depth interviews with experts and experienced practitioners. Three key areas are identified as major elements within a PV experience: process, communication and results. Focusing on the analysis of how productive tensions between participants and facilitators play out in each of these areas, we propose a broad instrumental definition in the hope of contributing to the ongoing theoretical discussion on PV. Finally, the main areas of debate as perceived by video practitioners -format, genre and the role of the Internet- are discussed with a view to establish how these issues are currently being negotiated within the field
